Former Boston Celtic player and coach Bill Russell. In 13 seasons, Russell was a 12 time National Basketball Association (NBA) All Star, a 11 time NBA Champion, a 5 time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), and a 4 time NBA rebounding leader. Russell also captained the United States National Basketball Team to an Olympic Gold Medal.

Russell is a member of the NBA Hall of Fame, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the National Collegiate Hall of Fame, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Hall of Fame, and the University of San Francisco Hall of Fame.

Russell is one of just two NBA players to ever record more than fifty (51) rebounds in a game. Russell also recorded 49 rebounds twice. In his honor, the NBA Finals MVP is named the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award.

George Washington University head men's basketball coach and former Catholic University of America player Mike Lonergan. Lonergan won a National Championship during his coaching tenure at Catholic.
